Focus Most Of Your Efforts On Agency Growth Activities

There are going to be many hats that you have to wear as a digital marketing agency owner.  It is very easy to get distracted and feel like you are working all of the time.  So you have to sit down and evaluate which of your efforts are actually moving the needle for your business.   The best way to do this is by breaking down your time into two categories: growth activities and maintenance activities

Generating Revenue for Your Agency

Growth activities are any actions that you take that are directly related to generating new business or revenue.  This could be things like working on your website, creating marketing collateral, writing blog posts, testing new ad strategies, or anything else that is directly related to acquiring new customers

Maintenance activities are all of the other things that you have to do to keep your business running, but don’t directly generate new revenue.  This could include things like administrative work, bookkeeping, customer service, or anything else that doesn’t directly bring in new clients.

Automate and Outsourcing in order to Grow

You should always be thinking about how you can automate or outsource your maintenance activities so that you can focus the majority of your time and energy on growth activities.  The goal is to make sure that you are constantly doing things that are moving your agency forward, so that you can scale quickly and efficiently.
